Education

I have a master’s degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from Utah State University and a bachelor’s degree from Utah State University in Human Development and Family Studies. During my time as a student, I loved learning about relationships and their impact on a person’s quality of life. I also value continual education and training. I am also certified as a Gottman Level 1 clinician as well as trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), a useful tool in healing from trauma.

Experience

In my clinical experience, I have worked with individuals and couples with a wide range of presenting problems. Some of which include anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship issues, self-esteem, and life transitions. I want to help people of all walks of life to face their unique challenges. I love working with clients of all ages, with an extra soft spot for helping teens.

Research & Writing

In addition to my clinical work, I have participated in academic research as part of my university studies. My research has focused on several topics, including social support in the context of a relationship (partner support), attachment styles, and adolescent peer relations and self-worth regarding their families.

On a more personal note…

I decided to become a therapist because I love being a part of someone’s healing process and helping them to become who they want to be. As a marriage and family therapist one of my goals is to help people mend unhealthy relationships and find the joy that can be found in building healthy relationships. I also strive to help individuals find purpose and worth within themselves.

I am married to the most patient husband who truly is my favorite person. We love to watch shows and to paint, although neither of us are any good! We also love games and hanging out with friends and family. In my free time I love to craft, scrapbook, and practice yoga.
